Unless you spent 2021 living under a rock, I’m sure you all heard about the OnlyFans shitstorm that happened last year. Side note, respect to you if you did choose to spend last year under a rock. 2021 sucked! And in August it got even worse, with OnlyFans stating they would be removing all adult content from the site.
So, of course, there was an uproar from both the adult content creators and their fans. Literally millions of them. Following this, OnlyFans back-tracked and decided to suspend the removal of adult creators.
But there was a lot more going on behind the scenes than just a sudden decision to ban adult content. It involves payment providers, the terrible SESTA & FOSTA laws and a well-funded anti-porn push from the conservative right in the USA.
